  1. This Demon/Sony Music 5-disc box is a lot of fun – basically listening to a classic rock format FM station w/quite a few unusual nuggets or very deep tracks thrown in. Excellent (re-mastered??) sound, & playback volume between tracks is pretty good (a few are very low, though, like Mott the Hoople’s All the Young Dudes), so ripping/burning favorite tracks via computer is pretty /5().

  3. Madacy's three-disc set 60's Greatest Rock & Roll Hits collects well-known singles from the early- to mid-'60s, including Chubby Checker's "The Twist," Sam & Dave's "Soul Man," and Ben E. King's "Stand By Me." The collection does a pretty good job of representing most of the musical trends of that era, from girl group hits like the Angels' "My Boyfriend's Back" and the Chiffons' "One Fine Day.

  5. Petey Pablo's "Club Banger" and Trick Daddy's "Let's Go" are right out of the Dirty South school of hip-hop, while Syleena Johnson's "Faithful to You" and Alicia Keys' "Butterflyz" have a neo-soul outlook -- that is, they combine urban/hip-hop beats with classic pre-'80s soul values.

  7. After nearly 10 years I was searching for some New Beat albums and this was the second one I found. I will agree with the other reviewer that it is better than the other. Something I find intruiging is that I bought 85% of the New Beat records that were released in ,90,91 and now all that you can find are a couple of CD's that covered about 4/5(1).
